THREE TO NINE MONTHS BEFORE
INFORMATION GATHERING
It’s very easy to forget about the ceremony preparations and get swept along with all the practical preparations for your wedding day – finding, researching and booking the car, the cake, the flowers, the piper etc etc.
We don’t just turn up on your wedding day, open a book to read a ‘one size fits all’ ceremony, and head away again. We create a ceremony which is personal and unique to you, and invite you to have as much input as you’d like into your ceremony.
We propose that we gather personal and practical information from you – everything from what you love about your intended to whether you plan to have an order of service. This helps us write a very personal wedding address for you, and gives us a good overview of the set up and atmosphere you’d like on the day.
Whether you know clearly what you’d like to have musically or whether you’d like ideas and suggestions from us for live or pre-recorded music, we take our lead from you. You may have friends who could sing a solo piece or you may be part of a choir and want your choir to sing? And you may not wish to have any music at your ceremony? As with all elements of the ceremony we create for you, it’s your choice.
We’ve put together a large selection of readings and quotations from various sources which include old favourites plus some different more original options. It’s always nice to invite close friends or family to actively take part in your marriage ceremony and one way of having them join in is to have them read your chosen pieces.
Another way to involve family and friends is with ritual and we have lots of ideas – simple Handfasting binding of hands, candle lighting, using food and drink, and many more drawing from many sources and cultures.
We gather together all the different elements and aspects you’d like for your ceremony and then we turn it into a ceremony. All our ceremonies are written to use the language and symbology that fit for you, whilst also making the beliefs of your family and friends welcome. Once we’ve written it we then let you hear it or see it to ensure you’re 100% happy with everything. All then that remains is to show up on the day!
“Thank you so much for your help in the run up to the big day and for tailoring our service to something that felt so right on the day. We had so many compliments about the service and the job you had done. Thank you for helping make the day extra special and for really going the extra mile for us. It truly is appreciated.”
